Preventing Burnout in Deployed Healthcare Providers

Preventing Burnout in Deployed Healthcare Providers

Deployed healthcare providers face intense and sustained stress, increasing the risk of burnout. Contributing factors include heavy demands, limited opportunities for recovery, and ongoing moral pressure. When these pressures exceed the resources available to handle them, burnout is a predictable outcome, not a personal failing. Over time, burnout can erode readiness, judgment, and overall well-being.

The good news is that you and your team can work together to reduce the risk of burnout. Leaders can shape healthier work conditions, teams can strengthen connection and mutual support, and every provider can build habits that protect sleep, recovery, and resilience.

Use the HPRC resources in the PDF below to take action now. Strengthen your leadership practices, tighten team cohesion, and reinforce your own recovery routines so health becomes part of the deployment plan.
