The Family Subsistence Supplemental Allowance (FSSA) is a Department of Defense program that provides monthly financial benefits to some military families. The goal is to increase the income of military families so they don’t need to rely on Supplemental Nutrition Allowance Program (SNAP) food stamps. Eligibility for FSSA is based on household size and income. It’s available to military families living in the U.S. and overseas. If you move, get a promotion or pay raise, or if there’s some other change in your family’s income, you have to get recertified. Visit FSSA to determine your eligibility.
