PRINTED G4G MATERIALS
Feature Go for Green® (G4G) materials throughout your dining facility or galley to educate diners on the high-performance options available and direct their attention towards them. Posters can also be displayed across your installation to highlight G4G and its benefits for service members, drawing more diners to the dining facility. Posting printed materials meets the standards outlined in G4G Program Requirement 7: Marketing and Education.
All materials—including posters, table tents, and food cards—should be professionally printed at your local printing office. Assign a team member to track and manage ordering, displaying, and posting G4G marketing materials.
For more information about printing, check out the professional printing instructions and frequently asked questions.
Posters
Display at least 2–3 posters inside your facility to align with G4G Program Requirement #7: Marketing and Education, but consider ordering more to support your marketing initiatives. Coordinate with other departments or units around your installation to hang posters in the gym, barracks, work areas, or other popular areas. If able, order and stock additional posters to rotate inside and outside of your dining facility.
There are several categories of posters with a variety of options within each to educate and inform service members on the G4G program and nutrition for performance. Most posters are available in two sizes: 18″ × 24″ and 24″ × 36.″
Poster options are located in the G4G section, Print and Digital Materials, choose “Posters.”
Table Tents and Napkin Holder Insert
Printed marketing materials, such as table tents, table signs, and napkin holder inserts, are a great way to supplement printed posters at your dining facility or galley. There are several styles of each product to add variety across your dining area.
Print the amount of products based on the number of tables and napkin holders in your facility. If able, stock extra copies to easily swap out damaged or missing items as needed.
Table tents and napkin holder insert options are located in the G4G section, Print and Digital Materials, choose “Printed Marketing.”
Food and Drink Cards
Each menu item should have a food card or signage to identify the menu item along with G4G color and sodium codes. There are 9 food cards, one for each combination of Green, Yellow, and Red with Low, Moderate, and High sodium and 3 drink cards (color codes only). Both small (2.25 × 3.5”) or large-sized (3.5 × 5.5”) cards are available, so select the right size to fit the space available within your dining facility or galley. Many facilities use a mix of both small and large-sized cards.
Print the number of cards based on your menu, including an extra set of cards to easily replace lost or damaged cards. Laminate cards for longevity and to withstand cleaning and daily use.
Food and drink cards are available on the G4G section, Printed and Digital Materials, choose “Food and Drink Cards.”
Menu Signs
Menu signs can be in addition to, or in place of, food and drink cards, especially in small spaces with multiple items. There are a variety of G4G standardized templates for menu and build-your-own signs available that can be displayed digitally or printed and posted.
Menu signs are available on the G4G section, Printed and Digital Materials, choose “Menu Signs.”
Items to Support Printed Materials
There are a variety of additional items suggested to assemble, display, and/or protect your G4G materials. Order the right number of labels, holders, and/or poster frames to support printed labels. You can also use what’s already available at your facility.

DIGITAL MARKETING
Social Media
G4G Program Requirement 7: Marketing and Education includes the use of multiple marketing strategies, including digital options. Beyond the printed display of materials, promoting G4G through social media is an important way to reach service members and educate them on using G4G to fuel their performance. A digital campaign can also promote the G4G program across your community. Post digital marketing materials, featured meals, menu updates, and other important information to highlight your facility. Showcasing specific offerings that meet your diner’s needs and interests, such as build-your-own specialty bars, grab & go specials, and flavorful recipes will help draw more diners in. If able, create a local dining facility social media account or explore options to add content to the unit or installation account. Collaborate with installation or Service-wide initiatives or programs to amplify your messages and reach more service members. Follow installation and Service guidance and on Public Affairs Office (PAO) requirements.

- Print or digital newsletters
- Articles
- Flyers
Use service member-focused information and graphics to provide accurate and targeted education.
NUTRITION EDUCATION
Your installation’s Registered Dietitian (RD) or health promotion staff are valuable resources to educate service members on G4G and marketing your dining facility as a place to get nutritious, tasty options. Work with these nutrition and wellness professionals to provide in-person nutrition education sessions to your staff to learn more about how G4G can help with health and fitness goals. They can also discuss how to use G4G within the facility and highlight Green choices, an updated menu, or new serving areas.
